LandyOnline Workshop is Closing
It is with great sadness that I must announce to my loyal customers and fellow workshops that I have decided to close the workshop side of LandyOnline.
LandyOnline started in the beginning of 2002 with a tiny initial investment. I have built it up since then to a highly respected business with hundreds of loyal customers. It has enabled me to gain a lot of knowledge in several industries and has spawned two other businesses since it’s inception.
With LandyOnline as the backbone, MadMan Automotive, the engine monitoring and protection systems business, was created and has grown from strength to strength. LandyOnline has also enabled me to create and grow a property development company stemming from a need for new business premises.
The time has come for LandyOnline to retire and for me to concentrate on these two other businesses. With these two businesses as my daily tasks, I hope to greatly expand them in their respective fields and grow them further while receiving a better return on investment than what LandyOnline offered.
The Way Forward:
LandyOnline will stop taking bookings with immediate effect, all existing bookings and those vehicles in storage with us or elsewhere will be completed as per normal. All vehicles recently completed retain the appropriate warranties. LandyOnline will wrap up its debtors and creditors until the books are clear, thereafter, LandyOnline will cease to exist.
MadMan Automotive will expand the MadMan range of products, which will now also include the Variable Nozzle Technology (VNT) turbo development for upgrades to traditional fixed turbo vehicles such as Tdi, Td5 and others.
We will also be supplying Land Rover parts on order, delivered to your door.
MadMan Automotive will trade via the online shop as before, selling to both trade and retail customers alike. MadMan Automotive will act mainly as a design and development facility with the products distributed online and through a network of installers and dealers. These dealers and installers will be trained and supported by MadMan Automotive while also offering technical assistance to both trade and private customers alike.
A new, smaller, premises will be built within the existing Veni View business park. In the interim, the business will be located either in the current premises or privately.
The MadMan website will be updated within the next week to reflect the changes.
Brian Cotton Designs cc t/a LandyOnline Workshop will undergo both a name change (to MadMan Automotive) and a registration change. (from a Close Corporation to a Pty). All details will be sent to our suppliers when the administrative changes are in effect. Existing accounts will remain intact for the foreseeable future.
Where does this leave you ?
As a customer or supplier of MadMan products, VNT turbos or any part of the online shop, nothing serious changes for you, you may receive emails detailing slight changes to operating procedures, company details etc, but business continues as usual.
The online shop remains at www.LandyOnlineRetail.co.za/shop until the MadMan onlinse shop is ready to trade. When this happens, the various websites will be updated.
As a vehicle owner requiring mechanical vehicle repair, your world has just changed drastically.
By far, the most difficult part of the decision to close LandyOnline was the effect on our customers. Over the years we have built a lot of friendships based on great work and mutual trust with our customers, but unfortunately, I have had to come to terms with letting go of that so that I can move on with my life plans.
Here is a list of other workshops in the immediate area that may be able to assist with your vehicle repair requirements, I am not going to list all the known workshops, just the ones that I deal with regularly and who I would entrust a customer to. You are naturally free to choose whoever you like, from this list or elsewhere.
Our workshop mechanics, Fortune and Eric, have indicated that they would be willing to do casual work on customer's vehicles where possible, I have thus included an email link and phone number of Fortune Mngoma who will relay info to Eric as needed.
